In the last 10 years we have focused on quality standards for online learning, and it is perhaps time to do the same for student pathways. The fundamental underpinning of a Pathway is student choice, making personalization something that is student-controlled rather than teacher or school prescribed. It offers the student different starting points and thereby provides a unique conduit to opportunity and equity. What do we have to do to make Pathways a core concept in our systems, our pedagogy and our curriculum development? What might it capture that a course may not?
