The next generation of learners can be supported by higher education programs that provide a platform supporting and enhancing team building, critical thinking, problem-solving and networking skills. The gap between what learners obtain in the classroom and the application of skills in the workplace can be shortened with the offering of experiential learning opportunities. Universities can deliver an online experience that allows students to build soft skills while connecting theory to practice, effectively demonstrating holistic workforce preparedness in their field of study. The Higher Education and Real-world Training (HEaRT) experiential learning model is a learner-centered initiative that delivers an experience within an online environment where learners earn digital badges and micro-credentials.

Looking forward to conversations on experiential learning opportunities for on-line higher education students. Happy to share our HEaRT model with others and collaborate on future projects.
