Cambridge (MA) Schools were faced with a problem. They wanted to launch data interoperability across software systems, so they could 1) simplify and improve efficiency of data transfer, 2) ensure all data transfer was secure and met privacy requirements, 3) brought all data together to support decision-making and 4) leverage existing state data collection to reduce duplication of effort. But Cambridge worked with multiple vendors who each "spoke" a different data standard. Cambridge needed to implement a data architecture that translated data across standards, allowing them to reap the benefits of OneRoster while also connecting to data privacy standards established through their contract management process. Learn how Cambridge Schools, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Cedar Labs all worked together to support efficient capture, transfer, and analysis of student learning data, leveraging the existing state data collection process, all while meeting the high student privacy demands of Cambridge families.
