In order to ensure that all youth - especially those that are most economically vulnerable - are given the best opportunity to achieve economic and career success, we must connect and empower communities. It's time to build ecosystems that focus on pathways to education and work. Bringing together city government and assets, CBOs, educational providers, and social capital in communities, LRNG and SNHU are building a coherent and stackable credentialing framework that moves from badges through micro-credentials to degree, while creating on-ramps to work. We believe this work has the power to close the equity gap and create true pathways to learning and work. This past summer, LRNG ran a pilot project in the city of Chicago to translate badges into credit at Southern New Hampshire University. Working with youth, we are gaining more understanding of how to engage and support them as they traverse the pathway toward college credit.
