Implementing a Comprehensive Learner Record of Employer-Defined Credentials

This session will provide insight into the University of Maryland, Baltimore County's efforts to pilot a Comprehensive Learner Record (CLR). The University System of Maryland (USM) is partnering with AACRAO and NASPA to develop CLR pilots as part of their Lumina-Funded national project.UMBC's pilot focuses on tracking acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) defined by the Greater Washington Partnership (GWP) Capital COLab, an academic and industry partnership focusing on developing a skilled workforce in the region. The GWP has identified four employer-defined KSA tracks for students to complete:Generalist in Data Analysis & VisualizationSpecialist in Data AnalyticsSpecialist in Machine Learning Specialist in Cybersecurity Competencies acquired within each track are represented as stackable micro-credentials in the CLR. This session will present the strategies used to map KSAs to academic content within AEFIS assessment management platform, to represent credentials in the CLR, and to issue credentials to earners.
