Technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Big Data, Biotech, etc. are redefining what it means to be human, and succeed in life and work. The world of the 21st century bears little resemblance to that of the 19th century, so Education curricula must be deeply redesigned for versatility and adaptability, implying all of the four dimensions of Knowledge, Skills, Character and Meta-Learning, and the interplay between them. In addition to redefining What we teach, AI will help us evolve How we teach: from automated grading/feedback to agents to etutors, numerous possibilities are emerging to scaffold both teachers and students. Adroitly leveraging the affordances while avoiding the over-hype will remain a subtle challenge to resolve.
