The IMS OneRoster specification defines how student information systems, learning management systems, assessment systems, etc. exchange information about student enrolments, grade books and access to learning resources. Version 1.1 was released in September 2018 and version 1.2 is close to release with release to the public expected in the May of 2020. A recent addition to the specification was support for the exchange of detailed assessment results based upon the OneRoster Gradebook Service i.e. the new Assessment Results Profile. The OneRoster specification has wide adoption in K-12 in the US, is now used in Europe and is under evaluation for use in Japan.
