2020 Learning Impact Leadership Institute

An increasing number of schools are allowing students to progress at their own pace and incorporate learning experiences from outside the school, whether in college classes, jobs, internships, or other pursuits. Most academic transcripts and information systems, however, are not designed to support the variety of learning experiences associated with competency-based education and co-curricular activities. Student growth, agency and equity increasingly rely on holistic measurements of the learning process, but too often learners who wish to share these accomplishments must curate this information on their own and often without the official mark of the educational institution. This session will explore how the Pivot Project, led by IMS Global in partnership with the OESIS Network, is meeting the needs of such schools. The PIVOT Project aims to accelerate adoption of the Comprehensive Learner Record as better way to capture a complete picture of stu dent competencies, skills, projects and experiences.
